Aaron Curry Box Head

$15000 (member price: $15000)

50th Anniversary Limited Edition Sculpture

Aaron Curry creates a new sculptural limited edition to exclusively benefit the Orange County Museum of Art.

Aaron Curry is one of the most visible young sculptors working in Los Angeles today, renowned for his bold remix of modern masters like Picasso and Noguchi infused with Pop culture references. Born in 1972 in San Antonio, TX, Curry was awarded an MFA from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 2008, and a few months later had his first solo museum exhibition at the Hammer Museum UCLA.

Aaron Curry’s work has been shown in museums and galleries throughout Europe and the U.S., and he was one of eight living artists featured in the 2011 OCMA exhibition, Alexander Calder and Contemporary Art. Curry’s work is represented by David Kordansky Gallery, Los Angeles.

This edition of only nine uniquely colored sculptures, whose imagery references tribal art and Surrealism, has been individually cast from urethane and pigment. Conceived and produced to support the Orange County Museum of Art’s programs.
